Last Tuesday I had a last-minute interview in Sparta. They offered me the job up front, creating a huge conflict in my brain with the fact that I'm not officially licensed yet to be in the classroom. Oops. So I had lots of fun in going to get my substitute certificate validated for Sussex County (they are by the county), then taking it to the board of ed, then getting an application for the certificate of eligibility and doing everything to fill it out and get money and have it notarized and everything so i could hand it in today to the Morris County Board of Education, then take a copy up to Sparta (is half an hour-45 min, btw) so they could see that I have actually applied, then they faxed over an expedite form to Morris County so that it won't take 24-32 weeks to get my license. Then, when that comes, I get to pay MORE money for a provisional license. wee.
but since all of my work has been done so late in the game, I won't be approved until the next board of ed meeting, which is on September 15, which means I don't start until the 16. dunno what they're gonna do with the kids till then. not my problem.
oh, yes, the job itself. it is a part time middle school general music position. i gets to teach 3 periods of general music every day, and be done by lunch time. and school doesn't even start until 9:00! sw33t, no?
