my mini-vacation

Day 1

we left this morning at 8ish. the ride was mostly uneventful. once we hit albany, tho, the weather got sort of icky- icy and grey and bleah. we made lenox (masspike exit 1) in good time, and had lunch in a (get this) greek pizzeria. i had a goooooood cheese calzone.

i had a good time in my class today. we were making heirloom buttons. i will post a picture of what i made.

it is still icing out (it also snowed this afternoon), so we decided quite logically not to go to the mall, but are staying in and watching space cowboys on tnt.

Day 2

it's always nice to know that the rest of the class hates you because you already know how to do something :) saturday it continued to sleet very hard. lots and lots of ice in the parking lot. we sat around all day working on tassels. our quaker enlightened us all with her rendition of a tassel dance. i think she has been thoroughly debased. :)

(stupid dog barking outside. rah.)

we gathered after dinner for about 2 hours and stitched some more. wee. it remained icky all day until

Day 3

we woke up sunday morning and (tada!) it was snowing! icky weather all day. well, the sun finally came out about noon and started melting some stuff. but they had never plowed or salted the driveway. i would have felt more secure if i had had some skates on, not just sneakers. i almost finished the project today (a tiny beaded purse) by lunch time, and have half of another one done. i just need more cream-colored beads (i'll get them tomorrow). our ride home was fine, except for we learned what tomorrow's weather is gonna be.......

we are supposed to get 4-8 inches of snow! how sucky is this weather? it's april! it's not supposed to do this anymore!
