On Vox: But mom, I'm not sleepy...

Weather is teh ebil. :| As I've written a dozen places today, the temperature was in the 60s and 70s on Wednesday and Thursday, but it began sleeting and snowing on Friday. Not acceptable. I should not have to switch back from sandals to sneakers or *gasp* boots.

Someone (Katherine Avery) at tv.net got me into a site called Paperback Swap. You post old books that you no longer want for someone else to request. You send the book to them, and in exchange receive a credit that allows you to request a book from someone else. I have 6 books in the mail now, and I have 9 more to send out. I'm getting rid of books! *cheer*

At work we're having this special deal where we get an amazing discount on certain products so we can talk about them to customers. For example, it's 50% off of iPod docking speakers, 50% off headphones, and 35% off computer speakers. So, I had to take advantage of this. I got me a pair of the Bose Triport OE headphones, and they are AWESOME. They may not be "noise cancelling" per se, but they still block out much/most of the outside noise. I was sitting right next to my printer as it was running, and I could barely hear it.

I made my first Build-a-Bear yesterday since I left, more than 2 years ago. I couldn't resist this either. The special limited edition spring animal this year is the cutest lamb. ^_^ I named mine Baa. (I'm lousy at names.)

Let's see. What else is going on? I'm going into New York next Thursday to go to a book reading by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, also known as the Yarn Harlot. It's going to be hundreds of knitters meeting in Central Park to show off our works in progress, and then the reading at 6 PM at FIT.

I also got a new CD. The latest album by the Canadian band The Tragically Hip, World Container,  was finally released in the US. So I am happy. :)
