Finally went to the movies today. I can now say that I have a geek-crush on Tony Stark from Iron Man. <3 I enjoyed the movie greatly.
I did learn something very important today.
Even if you go to the bathroom before you leave the house, you will have to go again an hour into the movie. :( But I held it until after the credits. \o/
If you haven't already seen the movie, you need to wait until the end of the credits. :|
So,
davitant is coming to visit this weekend. In preparation, I requested the entire weekend off. This is going to be the first time I've had both Saturday and Sunday off since... um... D*Con last September? I'm a wee bit excited. We're going to go do touristy things in New York, since Jeffry's never really done much. Sure, he's spent a few days there, but we were always rushing around to meet someone at a given time. We have plans to go to the Museum of Natural History and to the Metropolitan Museum. (Sadly, that's a total of $35 if we pay the recommended fees. On the other hand, they're recommended fees, not required. But I would feel guilty not paying full price.)
Sadly, this weekend is also Hogsmeade at
Hogwarts_Elite. Since Jeffry's train is coming in somewhere in the 11:30-12:30 timeframe, depending which one he makes, I've got a few hours to whip out some of the contests. 'Twill be interesting, I'm sure. Gotta remember to do the game sheets and trivia contests first. *nodnod*

Plus that's not the weekend, that's Tuesday and Wednesday. And I'm unsure what you and
Enjoy the touristy things. Those are good choices of museums. Pay for the extra exhibits if the Museum of Natural History has any good ones at the moment and you can afford it.

And dude, is that not the best material post-credits?
"I hear that a lot."
Good acronym. *nodnod*
And now it's unsolicited advice time!
If it makes a difference, the admissions people at the Met are really cool if you pay them whatever (my roommate is, like, philosophically opposed to museum admissions and usually just pays a nickel), but the Natural History Museum people are trained to make you pay the full admission. (AMNH has machines now where you can pay admission rather than waiting on line, but you don't have discretion over the price.) Either way, I usually just say I'm a student and pay that price. (I have a membership at the Met now, though, so I don't pay admission anymore.)
Also, not sure when the last time you were there, but the only extra at AMNH that's definitely worth paying for is the planetarium/space show.
On the other hand, the frogs exibit, the gold exibit, and the mythical creatures exibit were really cool. Probably all of those aren't there now though.
IMAX isn't that worth it unless you really want to see what they are showing.
